About John
John Englehardt of platinum home inspections became interested in learning how to maintain and improve houses since buying his first home in 1992.
“I was committed to learn the skills necessary to manage these improvements on my own”, says John. Learning such skills as drywall, installing and finishing all types of flooring, custom tile work, electrical, plumbing, detailed trim and finish, and complete custom deck and rail work.
A Passion for Homes
From there, John became a licensed contractor. “In the beginning, it was just so my wife and I could flip houses,” says John. He spent the next six years tearing apart houses and rebuilding them. John was committed to the entire process- no subcontracting- doing the job right from start to finish.
An Inspector with an Edge
John’s background as a general contractor gives him a unique edge in his work as a home inspector. “I became a home inspector to use these talents to ensure that home buyers and home owners can know the true condition of the home, warts and all,” says John. “I became a home inspector to use my contracting talents and my attention to detail to educate home buyers and home owners on the current condition of their investment.” John’s passion for homes, friendly personality, and candor are unique among home inspectors.
